I’ve added these Fear of Flying Flashcards to my crew bag.
I recently included something new in my flight kit that I think is worth sharing — especially for anyone who feels anxious about flying, or for those of us who like to support our passengers through those tough moments.
They’re called Flight Deck Fear of Flying Flashcards, created by an airline captain and someone who once struggled with flying themselves.
The cards are super simple and effective — short explanations, calming tips, and gentle affirmations designed to help people understand what’s happening during a flight and why. Sometimes, just knowing that a strange noise or sudden movement is completely normal can make a huge difference.
It’s such a small thing, but I’ve already seen how comforting it can be. I keep a pack in my bag and lend them to passengers when I notice someone having a tough time. Watching that shift from visible anxiety to a little more ease feels rewarding.
I’m really glad to have something like this to offer. If you’re a nervous flyer, or you know someone who is, these might be worth checking out. A little reassurance can go a long way.
As a flight attendant, I found them helpful because I always want to sit there and explain things to passengers who are scared, but I don't always have the time. Especially during takeoff and landing, it's impossible, and these are the moments that create the most panic, so I like having these to leave with them. I used them last week and the lady said it helped her.
